Founded in 1949 in Germany, the Otto Group is now a worldwide-operating trade and services group with about 49,000 employees working in 123 companies in 20 countries of Europe, North America and Asia.

It operates in three business segments: Multichannel Retail, Financial Services and Services. Its Multichannel Retail concept is based on three pillars: the catalogue business, E-commerce and over-the-counter retail trade. The company is the largest online retailer worldwide for fashion and lifestyle, and overall is number 2 behind Amazon and number 1 in Europe and Germany. Global corporate activities and a variety of strategic partnerships and joint ventures provide the Otto Group with excellent opportunities to transfer know-how and to use synergy potentials.

The Otto Group has been actively working in Russia since 1990. In 2006 it founded DIRECT CATALOGUE SERVICE LLC in Moscow, which promotes such clothes catalogue brands as OTTO (www.otto.ru), bonprix (www.bonprix.ru), WITT International (www.witt-international.ru). To support this business BUSINESS SERVICE LLC was established in Tver. In 2008 BUSINESS SERIVE launched its own warehouse to keep goods sold via the Otto Group’s catalogues.

In 2009 the Otto Group acquired NADOM Group including the fulfillment & logistics company PromoPost in Tver. Founded from scratch in 1996 to pioneer the Russian distance selling market NADOM Group promotes such catalogues brands as NADOM, Health & Comfort, Meggy Mall (www.meggymall.ru) and PROMENAD offering goods for home, household, health and beauty. In 2009 the Otto Group also acquired Quelle Russia (www.quelle.ru), a well-known multichannel brand.

The Otto Group continues to expand its business in the fast growing E-commerce. In May 2010 it took over the private shopping concepts Prestige in Ukraine (www.prestigeshop.com.ua).

Now Otto Group Russia including NADOM Group, DIRECT CATALOGUE SERVICE, PromoPost, BUSINESS SERVICE and Quelle Russia is a leader of the Russian distance selling market.
